Location: City Dust, Maine / USA; time: spring 1990, the dawn creeps through the city.  After dark, nobody dares more on the road.  On the western outskirts, near a rotting waste disposal facility, is a sinister institution.  There are terrible things from play: A mad professor who was a year ago from the penitentiary, makes strange experiments, for which he used to waste a nearby garbage dump outside the laboratory.  The monster should possess supernatural powers and fabricate zombies and ghosts from trash ... 

An ordinary day.  The school has just been made.  You are a date with your girlfriend Anna - but it does not appear at the agreed meeting point.  Siedendheiss you remember that yesterday they mentioned something mysterious from the lab ...  They wanted to find some way - but it should still remain secret.  Suddenly, you get to do it with fear, she had indeed gone to the institute?  Hopefully nothing happened to her!  You get on the search for Anna ... 

An adventure game with an operator in the style of Zak Mc-cracking or Maniac Mansion, with beautifully drawn pictures, lots of puzzles and a jump-and-run sequence as an action-end.  The score can be saved. 

Charging and Starting 

After loading (LOAD "*", 8) and starting with RUN appears a brief introduction, after which you can press the RETURN key, skip.  After that, the title graphic with the space bar can be left <SPACE> shown.  After the rest of the files are loaded, you will be asked to move to the back of the floppy disk into the drive: This is the game scenes disc, which must remain throughout the course of the game in the disc drive!  Similarly, the current score (GAME) is stored on this side of the program disk (see menu item in the SAVE command menu). 

game control and command inputs 

The game is controlled exclusively with the joystick in port 2.  The screen is divided: the graphic in the upper half will scroll as needed to the left and right (depending on the position of the cursor cross), below that is the command menu that begins with the blue-marked line of input: 
 
The 14 verbs of the first two columns, you can determine your actions.  In the right column you will find the inventory with three objects. 

Scroll forward in the inventory, if you select Next object with the joystick and click.  The function object can last previous one. 

Save saves the current game (GAME) on the game disk. 

Load loads the game state (GAME).  You can now continue with the situation, the validity of the SAVE possessed. 

Exit terminates the program with a reset (cold start) 

Restart the game is restarted, it starts again from the opening scene (before school). 


Command line produce 

First  Graphics cursor to move the command from the menu and press the fire button. 

Second  The verb is transferred to the command line. 

Third  Select object (directly in the graphic adventure in the inventory or, if necessary, scroll back with "Last Object" and next "object" in front-or). 

4th  The object also appears in the command line when it was identified as such by the program. 

5th  As long as the fire button is not pressed, can object or verb in the command line at any time. 

6th  If you have opted for a command sequence, the fire button is pressed.  The character executes the command now. 

Example: SWITCH ON LIGHTER 

First SWITCHING ON (1st column) select using the joystick, then press LIGHTER (in INVENTORY, right column) and fire button! 

The following verbs allow a second object at the command prompt: USE - GIB - THROW 
Example: You moöchten burn the notebook with the lighter: 
USE LIGHTER WITH NOTEBOOK 

First select USE, then lighter and last NOTEBOOK. 


objects 

Would you take an object or activate that is not already in your inventory, move the cursor cross the screen at the desired location.  At the command line appears, the corresponding object, depending on the position of the cursor cross in the graphic.  Now press gently on the fire button.  Depending on the chosen verb, the character tries with the object of the intended action you perform.  This can follow on-screen in the command line will indicate the appropriate comment.  It does not matter whether the character is already at the selected object, immediately it is on its way there, and avoids any obstacles.

It is worthwhile to take all possible objects closer look (select orders SEE ON!) 

Some things seem illogical, please read the comments.  They help to clarify the situation. 

If you are in a game scene totally bogged down, there is only the menu RESTART (the game starts again from the opening scene!) 

Therefore, make frequent use of the SAVE menu item.  The current score is always stored in a file named GAME on the game disk and, if necessary scene loaded from.

This game was the winner of the 64'er Programming Contest "Games," which was in the 64'er 1991-01 (page 18) and advertised in the 64'er 1991-09 (page 110).
